Powerful tricks for shopping at Amazon

I stumbled on the money saving expert website, and found this article.

Massive web store Amazon* almost needs a rule book for itself. One common mistake is to assume everything at Amazon is eligible for the free delivery over £5 deal, yet if it doesn't state this at the top of the page, it isn't. This is usually because while it looks like it, it's not actually Amazon selling the goods but a third party company; worse still, the delivery on these goods can be £5 or £6 per product.

Yet there's good news too. Did you know Amazon has a price promise; that if the price drops within 30 days of you buying an item you can claim the difference back. How to do it? Go to the "help" menu, then "returns and refunds", press the "more" button and on the right there's "contact customer service by email". Click here, sign in when prompted, select "other assistance" from the drop down menu.


Plus if you're close to that £5 free delivery limit, there's a special web-tool that'll find you a product to plug the gap (e.g. if you need to spend 34p to save £2.75 delivery, it'll find what to buy).

Don't be fooled into thinking Amazon Prime, its all-inclusive free one-day delivery package, will save you money. As you get free super saver delivery when you spend over £15 anyway you'd need to buy 34 DVDs or CDs, or 18 books costing under £15, one at a time to make the £49 annual cost worthwhile. (Emm, that's the reason I have just cancelled it!)

£3 will allow the new Runaway Helpline text service to respond to 20 messages from children and young people: providing confidential advice; offering alternatives to running away and solutions for getting off the streets.

How it works
For each working handset you donate to our appeal Help a London Child will receive at least £3 - and the better the phone the more we receive - some could be worth as much as £20!
Every phone donated is re-conditioned, recycled and re-used. So this Christmas you can be 'green' as well as kind.

Amazon has stealthily launched its MP3 Store in the UK, with some major reductions on frontline albums. For example, Take That’s The Circus, which came out last week, is being sold for £3, as are the most recent albums from Kings Of Leon, Snow Patrol, Cold Play, Girls Aloud.

On an individual track basis, the store has variable pricing, with songs starting at 59p, but other categories for tracks costing 60p-69p, 70p-79p, and over 80p. Albums are more variable, although £6.49 appears to be one popular price point for new albums.

My personal favourite product is this innovative new cheek tint, Posie tint. This opaque liquid gives you a see-through tint on cheeks. You can apply it on the lips too! The color is
lovely! If you used Benetint (the original cheek tint made from crushed rose petals - I love it too), you know the drill: dot a drop of color to the apple of each cheek and then spread with a circular motion.

I have just got my pillow and duvet changed.... Haa.. was pretty satisfied with the Ben Sherman pillow and duvet from Amazon. (Thanks to the free delivery @ Amazon Prime, I have saved a lot). White Ben Sherman (£24.72) and blue (£17.99). Worth mentioned that the blue one is 100% cotton. Both incl. duvet and pillow.
